Jacob Cameron Swadley passed away in Oklahoma City on Friday evening, July 4, 2014, at the age of 24 years. Cameron put up a ferocious battle against leukemia, and twice won the fight. First diagnosed on April 23, 2013, he spent his time in treatment when he had to, and continued working in various places any time he was able. His illness was in remission and he was planning to return to work in Ohio, when he succumbed to complications from treatment he was receiving.
Cameron was born on December 4, 1989, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Jon L. Swadley and Christina 'Tina' L. McCoy. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, and later in Moore. He grew up attending First Baptist Church, and later became a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed his work as a pipeliner and was employed for several years by Wyatt Construction. His favorite things were bull riding, mudbogging, and riding Harley motorcycles.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donnie & Nadine McCoy, and paternal grandfather, Roy Swadley; his aunt, Sue Rogers; his maternal great grandfather, Frank McCoy.
He is survived by three children: Dixie Lynn Bay of Moore, Tori Nadine Swadley, and Frances Luanne Swadley, both of Spaulding; his mother, Tina McCoy, of the home; his father and stepmother, Jon & Tammy Swadley of Holdenville; five siblings: Courtney Swadley of Holdenville, Jeremy Swadley (April) of Ada, Brooke McNaughton (Dylan) of Stillwater, Ryan Swadley (Katy), and Alyssa Swadley, all of Holdenville; paternal grandmother, Judy Swadley of Holdenville; his fiancé, Kristin Michelle Schoene of Holdenville; five nieces: Brylee Swadley, Kaylee Swadley, Brooklyn Swadley, Elizabeth Swadley, and Addison Swadley; one nephew, Blake McNaughton; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, other family members, and many, many friends, some of whom affectionately called him 'Honkey Moose'.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Holdenville, and Cameron will be laid to rest in the Lamar Cemetery. Rev. Rick Madron is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Adam Foran, Jeremy Ingram, Taylor Swadley, Jeremy Swadley, Eric Schoene, and T. J. Morrison. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Noll, Kenny Bettis, Josh Foran, Michael Tracy, Richard Garner, Austin Ellis, Ryan Bintz, James Parker, B. J. Finley, Keith Pasley, Kevin Wedgeworthy, Jamie Lasater, Flint Pattison, and Jeremy Kraft.
