Obituary

Jacob Harjo passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Wednesday morning, February 4, 2015, at the age of 70 years.

Jacob was the son of Tema & Sissie (Grayson) Harjo, born on December 15, 1944, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and when his military service ended lived in Dallas, Texas, where he worked as a mechanic for various car dealerships. He returned home to Wewoka in 1989, where he was employed by Jim Cox Oldsmobile. He has lived for the past two years in Holdenville, to be with his son. Jacob loved watching Dallas Cowboys football games and Western television shows.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tema & Sissie Harjo, and two brothers, Johnny Harjo and Legus Harjo.

He is survived by two children, Alex Harjo of Holdenville and Jo Beth Warrior of Shawnee; one sister, Linda Harjo Johnson (Jacinto Delgato) of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren: Clara Harjo, Weldon Harjo, and Laura Harjo; his former wife, Mary Yargee Harjo, of Holdenville; nieces and nephews, various other family members and many friends.
