Jackie Linual Peace passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the age of 88 years.
Jackie was the son of Butch Peace & Lizie (Hodge) Peace, born on November 4, 1933, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was brought up in Holdenville and attended Pecan Grove and Yeager schools. He enjoyed working and held multiple jobs, as a driller for Prospector Drilling Company and also for FSC Drilling Company, both in Tulsa, and laying electrical poles for Rhinehart Electric in Missouri; he worked for Don Hassell in the pecan orchards, as a ranch hand and foreman at Five Star Ranch, and as an auto mechanic repairing cars and trucks. He retired after his legs were severely injured on a job in Pecos, Texas and he spent a long time in the hospital there before being transferred to Oklahoma City Bone & Joint Hospital. He married Eva George on November 12, 1998, at Many Springs Baptist Church in Holdenville, and finally settled down with his new wife, making their home in Holdenville.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents, Butch & Lizie Peace; two sisters, Mary Plymale and Malvenia Eardmann; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Raymond & Johnnie Peace, Wayne Peace, Frank & Jean Peace, and Bo & Estelle Peace; one son, Jackie Butch Peace, and one daughter, Ruth Yancey.
He is survived by his true love of twenty-four years, his wife Eva, of the home; stepdaughter Heather Dooley and husband Leonard Dooley IV of Holdenville; two step grandchildren, Adrianna Griggs and Leonard Dooley V; three daughters, Ruby George and husband Rick, Ronda Yeubanks, and Rita Peace; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Memorial services were held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, 2:00pm at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Holdenville, with Rev. Earl Scroggins officiating.
