Ivey Leslie Garner Jr. passed away at his daughter's home in Seminole, Oklahoma on Wednesday evening, October 25, 2017, at the age of 82 years.

Ivey was the son of Ivey Garner Sr. & Edna (Boatner) Garner, born on November 11, 1934, in Eldorado, Oklahoma. He was brought up in Seminole County, just south of the 5-Mile Corner, and attended Tate and Justice schools. He married Patsy Darlene Brown on December 4, 1957, in Wewoka. He joined the U.S. Air Force in February of 1959, and served ten years and three months in various places. He returned to Wewoka in March, 1967, and commuted for 13-1/2 years to his job at Tinker Air Force Base. He worked for ten years as Sexton of Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, and retired in July, 1992. Wewoka was his home for forty-nine years before his health failed and he moved to Seminole to be with his daughter.

Ivey was a former member and served in various official capacities at Oddfellow Lodge #52 until its closure in 2012. He loved to fish and camp, watch TV - especially Westerns - and he enjoyed sports, especially Little League games.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivey & Edna Garner; his wife of 46 years, Patsy Darlene Garner; one brother, Wallace Garner.
