Iva Victoria Turpin passed away in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Friday evening, September 18, 2015, at the age of 92 years.

Iva was the daughter of Clarence Cyrus Raney & Ona (Gage) Raney,
born on March 29, 1923, in Hilltop, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in the Calvin area, where she spent her entire life. She was married to Elvin Turpin on January 2, 1953, in Van Buren, Arkansas. They bought a house in Calvin, where they brought up two sons and Iva spent many happy years as a busy homemaker. She was a talented, creative lady who loved painting, sewing, doing crochet, tending the garden, and playing the piano. Elvin ran the Turpin Brothers Sand & Gravel Business and looked after their herd of cattle, and they made their home together in that same house until Elvin passed away on August 1, 2012, when he was 87 years old. Iva remained at home as long as her health allowed. She loved going to church, and was a member of Gerty United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.

Iva is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Elvin Turpin; her parents, Clarence & Ona Raney; three brothers: Clarence Raney, Lawrence Raney, Lloyd Raney; two sisters, Elsie Hicks and Clara Hazel Raney.

She is survived by two sons, Hank Turpin of Calvin, and Keith Turpin of Stuart; four grandchildren: Ericka Dutcher (Chris Elder) of Meeker, Angela Wallace (Charles) of Holdenville, Cody Turpin of Dallas TX, Victoria Ledford (Blaze) of Broken Bow; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one brother, Lonnie Raney (Linda) of Antlers; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at the Gerty United Methodist Church, and Iva was laid to rest beside her husband at Gerty Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Baltimore and Rev. Aaron Finney were the officiating ministers. Pallbearers were Gary Raney, Greg Turpin, Charles Tipton, Steve Raney, Earl Raney, and LeDon Turpin. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Hicks, Jerry Hicks, Melvin Turpin, Shelly Turpin, Larry Raney, Lonnie Farrel Raney, Gilford Turpin, and Jeremy Raney.
