Iva Clairetta Horn passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the age 94 years.

Iva was born on December 31, 1929, in Yeager, Oklahoma, the fifth of six daughters born to Samuel Asa  & Martha Melinda (Worthen) White. She was brought up and attended schools in the Holdenville area, graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1947, and began a full and productive life. She was married to Harold Horn on August 19, 1951. They made their home in Ada and then moved to Oklahoma City in the early 1960s, where Iva worked at a local bank. They moved to Mexia, Texas in the mid-1960s and were very active in their community. Together they owned and operated a store as well as their own private club; in addition, Iva worked in an insurance office as a bookkeeper and was very involved with the Mexia Business and Professional Womens Association. When they moved to Holdenville in 2001, she volunteered for Holdenville Hospital's Pink Ladies, Fishes and Loaves and various other volunteer groups. She was an active member of Holdenville First Baptist Church, and loved to cook for church events. She enjoyed golf, both playing the game and organizing scrambles. She had no children of her own but her 'son' was Buttons, her beloved little poodle that she trained to do all kinds of tricks, and to behave well enough to serve as ringbearer in a niece's wedding. Iva was beloved in the Holdenville community and she'll be sorely missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Martha White; five sisters: Helen Conn, Gladys Coburn, Pauline Melton, Earlene Lovelace, and Sammye Smith; Her husband of fifty-two years, Harold Horn.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews; various other family members and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, 1:00pm at Holdenville First Baptist Church, and Iva was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery, with Rev. James Poulain officiating. Pallbearers were Dalton Meeks, Chevy Meeks, Sonny Smith, Chris Roan, and Rodney Crawford.
