Ira Lee Munselle passed away at his home in Wetumka on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the age of 97 years.
Ira was the son of John & Ida (Rutledge) Munselle, born on January16, 1918, in a covered wagon in Cisco, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Elizabeth Sikes in 1936, while stationed with the Army in Brownwood, Texas. They were married 36 years when Elizabeth passed away in 1972.
Ira married Nina Bledsoe in 1974, and moved to her hometown of Wetumka, Oklahoma, where he worked for tractor implement companies in various towns and cities in the surrounding area. Nina passed away in 1986.
Ira loved to read, and he loved to fish. He was enthralled with tractors all his life and, even after retiring, restoring tractors was his favorite thing. He was a member of the VFW, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Wetumka.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Ida Munselle; two wives, Elizabeth Sikes Munselle and Nina Bledsoe Munselle; son Robert Lee Munselle, in 2013; two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Crawford, of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Michael Lee Crawford of Wetumka and Debra Lynn Locke of Keller, Texas; four great grandchildren: Jamie Rice, Zane Locke, Shelby Locke, and Mia Crawford; two great great grandchildren, Jalyn Johnson and Gigi Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
