Obituary

Hazel Louise White passed away at her home in Holdenville early on the morning of Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the age of 71 years.

Hazel was the daughter of Oscar Aaron White & Helen Bernice (Smith) White, born on March 13, 1946, in Ada, Oklahoma. She was brought up in the Sasakwa area, and lived all her life in the Sasakwa and Holdenville areas. She worked over 17 years for the Holdenville News circulation department, and also for L&M Lock & Key. Her favorite things were fishing, camping, cooking, and playing games, especially Yahtzee. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was dearly loved, and will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar & Helen White, one daughter, Melinda Gay Edwards; one brother, William 'Bill' White; two nieces, Teresa White and Diana White; one nephew, Aaron White.

She is survived by two children: Felicia Kay Beeler of Holdenville, and James 'Sambo' Harris (Val) of Ada; one stepson, Richard Phillips (Jeannette Roberts) of Seminole; fourteen grandchildren: Murtis Katherine Morphis (Charles) of Cromwell, Heather Ritter, Damon Sharp, Brody Smith, all of Holdenville, William J. Chesser (Ciera) of Wewoka, John E. Crutcher II of Chickasha, Selena Parish (Evan), Emmily Edwards, Michael Edwards (Jennifer), Matthew Edwards (Roxanne), Ashley Edwards, all of Enid, Trenton Phillips, Juanita Phillips, and Niacoma Roberts, all of Seminole; nine great grandchildren; three brothers: Hershell White (Linda) of Oklahoma City, Darrell White (Karen) of Shawnee, and John White (Pat) of Sasakwa; one sister, Anita Sue Blevins of Holdenville; son-in-law Sam Edwards of Enid; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at the House of Prayer in Wewoka, and Hazel was laid to rest in the Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Bill Chesser was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were William Chesser, James White, John White, Ronnie Pickett, Eric White, and Damon Sharp. Honorary pallbearers were John Crutcher, Chuck Morphis, and Gary Gore.
