Greda Lynn Coon-Hooper passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2013, at her home in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 53 years.

Greda was the daughter of Arthur & Eliza (Carpitcher) Coon, born on October 15, 1959, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Sasakwa, and graduated Sasakwa High School in 1978. She was a retired seamstress.

Greda enjoyed collecting knick-knacks, particularly ceramic figurines, and her house was filled with them. She loved singing traditional Muscogee-Creek hymns. She was a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church of Sasakwa.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Eliza Coon; one sister, Jeanetta Douglas, and one brother, Dwayne Coon; one daughter, Traci Jean Hooper.

She is survived by one daughter, Kasandra Hooper of Seminole; three grandchildren: Alisha Deatherage, Jared Stewart II, and Jase Stewart; six sisters: Margie Yazzie and husband Das of Coweta, Linda Tsadi of Henryetta, Shirley Wesley of Seminole, Rebecca Larney and husband Walter of Wewoka, Barbara Jefferson and husband Michael of Seminole, Elizabeth Coon of Seminole; one brother, Arthur Coon Jr. of Okmulgee; numerous nieces and nephews, various other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Rock Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, and Greda will be laid to rest in the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rev. Jimsey Harjo and Rev. Eugene Harjo are the officiating ministers.

Pallbearers are Jared Stewart, Walter Larney, Abraham Davis, Lewis Carpitcher, Eduardo Aguirre, and Zac Harrison.

Honorary pallbearers are Michael Jefferson, Jason Tiger, Joe Coon, Timmy Coon, Billy Coon, Terry Coon, and Nathanial Johnson.

A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel.

Greda will be taken to Rock Spring Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, July 24.
