Gerald Clifford Wilson Sr, lifelong Gerty resident, passed away in Oklahoma City on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the age of 79 years.

Clifford was the son of Clarence & Cleo (Phillips) Wilson, born on October 24, 1943, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in the Gerty community, graduating in the final years before the school closed, with the Gerty High School Class of 1962. He lived his entire life in the Gerty area, farming and ranching, and working as a welder on steel buildings, in the oil field, and in bridge construction. He helped to build the bridge over the north fork of the Red River between Blair and Mangum, the bridge in Eufaula, and numerous others throughout the state. He was also a contract swine grower for Tyson Foods. He loved to work, especially with his cattle, and was a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association. He particularly enjoyed operating a bulldozer pushing timber and building ponds, and his favorite tree was always the one in front of the bulldozer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Cleo Wilson, granddaughter Faith Wilson, and the mother of his four sons, June Annette Wilson.

He is survived by four sons: Gerald Wilson Jr (Denise), David Wilson (Kathy), Jerry Wilson (Pat), all of Gerty, and Lance Wilson, also of Gerty on the old homeplace; eleven grandchildren: Lacrasha, Rose, Amanda, Joanie, Joseph, Ben, Isaac, David, Bryar, Gavin, and Rayna; four great grandchildren; one brother, Arlan Wilson (Norva) of Gerty; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Graveside services were held at 12:00 noon on Monday, March 27, 2023, and Clifford was laid to rest at Gerty Cemetery, with Keith Warren officiating. Pallbearers were Gerald Wilson, David Wilson, Jerry Wilson, Lance Wilson, Anthony Muck, and David Wayne Owen Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Dale Wilson, Gavin Wilson, and Joseph Wilson.
