Obituary

George B. B. King passed away in an auto accident near Holdenville early on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 28, 2013, at the age of 59 years.

George was the son of Artis King & Gussie Mae (Owens) King, born on May 29, 1954 in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was affectionately known as 'Smokey', and grew up and attended schools in the Wetumka area. He joined the United States Marines at the end of the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged in 1974.

Following military service, Smokey moved to the Fort Smith, Arkansas area, and moved around the country often in the following years. He returned to Oklahoma four years ago and lived in various places, and had made his home for the past two years in Wewoka. He worked with his brother as a carpenter.

Smokey enjoyed fishing, but he loved mechanic work, he always said that working on cars was 'his Hustle'.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Artis & Gussie King, his brother, Roosevelt Wiggins, and his sister, Dorothy Bowens.

He is survived by three sons: Marcus King of Tulsa, Calvin King of Holdenville, and Johnny King of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and one daughter, Desiree Rhome of Lawton; a host of grandchildren; four brothers: Joedell Wiggins of St. Paul, Minnesota, Johnny King of Oklahoma City, Emmitt Wiggins of Wewoka, and Walter Lewis Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one special sister-in-law, Janice Conner of Fort Smith Arkansas; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 7, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, and Smokey will be laid to rest in the Wisner Cemetery west of Wetumka.
