Fred Wendell

January 28, 1950 – December 24, 2025
Fred Wendell Leewright passed away at his home in Seminole on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the age of 75 years.
Fred is the son of Fred Ozel Leewright & Irene House, born on January 28, 1950, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. He graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1968, then joined the U.S. Army and served from 1968-1969. He married Sharon Annette Cain on July 31, 1970. He worked as an x-ray technician in Oklahoma City at Children's Hospital and at St. Anthony Hospital. Sharon worked as a neo-natal nurse in the same hospitals and on the same shifts as Fred, and they made their home in Choctaw. Fred enjoyed photography and gospel singing. He loved family events and was always the one planning and getting things together for those special times.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Leewright and Irene House; his wife, Sharon Leewright; one son, Bryan Leewright, and one grandson, Zachary Tollett.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric & Kelly Leewright of Seminole; five grandchildren: Hayden Leewright (Sarah) of Sadan KS, Preston Leewright, Seth Leewright, Erica Smith (Amos), all of Seminole, and Brooklyn Timmons (Tommy) of Maud; four great-grandchildren: David Smith, Clay Timmons, Josh Smith, and Jerzey Smith; one sister, Marlene Crittenden of Wewoka; other family members and many friends.
Graveside services were held at Holdenville Cemetery at 1:00pm on Monday, December 29, 2025, immediately followed by memorial services at New Life Church in Wewoka at 1:45pm. Rev. Tommy Azlin was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were Amos Smith, Eric Leewright, Seth Leewright, Preston Leewright, Hayden Leewright, and Tommy Timmons.
