'Pvwv' Frank Davis
Deceased July 25, 2011 at home in Lamar surrounded by family and friends. Born April 5, 1922 at Spaulding, OK, his parents were Emma Tiger and Cheparney Davis and step-mother Martha Bruner Davis. Preceding him in death are his parents Emma, Cheparney and Martha, a sister Christine Davis Wolfe and a brother Merle Lee Davis. Surviving Frank are his aunts Cora Harjo of Sasakwa, Wanda Postoak and Juanita Tiger of OKC and Maggie Elliot of Del City, 1 sister Sue Ann Davis of the home and 1 step brother Leo King of Tulsa; although Frank never married he has 7 nieces and 11 nephews whom he cherishes as his own children and 46 great nieces and nephews and 50 great-great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, friends and neighbors.
Frank attended Euchi Indian School and Haskell Indian Institute, even though he didn't graduate high school he served our country in both the US Army and US Marines, serving WWII in the Army and the Korean Conflict as a Marine. He grew up and worked around Holdenville until he relocated with his parents to OKC were he worked as a carpenter for Joel Coley until he retired to Lamar in 1978. Frank took care of his parents and siblings, nieces and nephews; he enjoyed fishing, camping, working his garden and picking pecans. He loved being with family and friends and working outdoors.
Wake service will be Thursday July 28, 2011, 7:00 pm at Fisher Funeral Home, Holdenville, OK and funeral services Friday July 29, 2011, 1:30 pm at Many Springs Baptist Church and final resting place at Lamar Cemetery, Lamar, OK.
Pall bearers are Danny George, Corey George, Moses Isham, Siah Chief Isham, Raymond Davis and Bryant Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Dewey Hill, Richard Fields, Willie Harjo, Leo King, Mike Deer, David Isham, Mekko Fields, Brandon Kaniatobe, Miles Davis and Wesley Beaver.
