Floyd Gene Ledbetter passed away at his home in Holdenville on Sunday morning, March 8, 2015, at the age of 76 years.
Floyd was the son of Ollie Everett Ledbetter & Cordie (Green) Ledbetter. He was born on May 18, 1938, in the Dark Hollow community east of Holdenville in Hughes County, Oklahoma. He attended Hulsey schools. He was a concrete worker, and followed bridge construction throughout the state of Oklahoma. He loved the outdoors. Some of his favorite things were fishing, hunting deer, and hunting for mushrooms - as long as he was outside, he was happy. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie & Cordie Ledbetter, and three sisters: Velma Brewer, Sybil Harris, and Thelma Griffith.
He is survived by four sons and two daughters: Floyd Everett Ledbetter Jr. of Depew, Curtis Ledbetter (Cora) of Holdenville, Lonnie Kulp (Carolyn) of Harrah, Michael Lord (Donnelle) of Depew, Cindy Akins and Peggy Heavener, both of Oklahoma City; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, including twins on the way; one brother, Harvey Ledbetter (Dorotha) of Seminole; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 12, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, with interment at Ledbetter Family Cemetery in a private family service. Rev. Dane Robinson is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Christopher Woodard, Johnathan Woodard, Michael Ledbetter, Kyle Ledbetter, Michael Kulp, and Timothy Kulp.
