Esther Harjo Walker passed away at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the age of 76 years.

Esther was the daughter of Tom & Hazel (Wildcat) Harrison, born on June 9, 1935, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She returned to Holdenville at the age of 17, and made it her lifelong home. She was married in 1950 to Willie Harjo, who preceded her in death in 1981. She later married Barney Walker on August 8, 1989, in Holdenville. Mr. Walker also preceded her in death.

She loved to go to church, and was a member and Women's Leader at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church west of Holdenville. She loved going fishing and going places. She loved her home, loved to cook, and loved family gatherings. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom & Hazel Harrison; two husbands, Willie Harjo and Barney Walker; one daughter, Irene Owl.

She is survived by five children: Ella Stephens and companion Dave Bishop, Mary Harjo, Josephine Johnson and husband Joseph, Marie Twomey and husband Robert, Alex Harjo and wife Michelle, all of Holdenville; ten grandchildren: Sheila May of Holdenville, Tim Balderama of South Dakota, Wayne Johnson, Andrea Johnson, Willie Dority, Stephanie Dority and husband Robert, all of Holdenville, Johnathon Dority and wife Stephanie of Wysox, Pennsylvania, Robbie Twomey and wife Tara, Sierra Harjo and Kourtney Harjo, all of Holdenville; ten great grandchildren: Cameron May, Zachary May, Katy Dority, McKayla Dority, Brooklyn O'Bryant, Lexus Dority, Tyler Sweet Dority, Jase Dority, Aden Twomey and Zaylan Twomey; four sisters: Lena Rivas of Palm Springs, California, Betty McClure of Lawrence, Kansas, Lucille Weger of Houston, Texas and Virginia Brown of Seminole, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews, various other relatives and many friends.
