Eric Don Stephens passed away in Holdenville on May 16, 2013, at the age of 33 years.

Eric was the son of Deborah Mooney, born on August 2, 1979, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, his lifelong home.

Eric worked as a handyman and enjoyed repairing bicycles, motors and vehicles. He loved fishing, listening to music, and hanging out with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Mooney and step grandfather Earl Madden; cousin Jody Mooney; the mother of his children, Kristy Lynn Tatum.

He is survived by three children and one stepdaughter: Cameron Stephens, Erika Kristeen Stephens, Eric Don Stephens Jr., and Denae George, all of Coffeeville, Kansas; his mother, Deborah Stephens, of the home; stepfather, David Stephens, of Holdenville; grandmother Mary A. Madden, of the home, and the grandmother of his children, Sheila Roberts of Coffeeville, Kansas; one sister, Denata Aguirre and husband Eddie, of Durant, Oklahoma, and one brother, Brian Stephens and wife Rachel of Holdenville; two aunts, Barbara Reid and husband Terry, of Holdenville, and Redonna Carlisle of Wewoka; two uncles, Keith Mooney of Seminole and Curtis Mooney and wife Linda, also of Seminole; one very special friend, Teresa Loch, of Holdenville; four nephews, one niece, fifteen cousins, other relatives, and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 24, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Holdenville Church of the Nazarene, and Eric will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery.

Rev. Dane Robinson is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Curtis Mooney Jr., Anthony Jack Mooney, Robby McMahan, Steve Parris, Adam Stapp, and Edward Aguirre.
