Emmitt Vangalee Chism passed away in Ada, Oklahoma on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at the age of 84 years.

Emmitt was the son of Emmett R. Chism & Hollie L. (Camp) Chism, born on September 28, 1936, in Houston, Arkansas. He was raised by his grandparents on a farm in Houston. He left home at age 15 and went to work in several different places. He was a "jack of all trades" and liked the outdoors and working outside. He married Carol A. Wooten on February 15, 1983.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister Monda Peters, daughters Tammy and Debbie, and several other family members.

He is survived by wife Carol; son Chris Rankins (Becky); other children: Terry Chism (Tina), Emmett Chism, daughter Sherry, Timothy Chism, and Kimball Chism; grandchildren: Jade Rankins, Brooklyn Rankins, Brittnaie Brooks, Krystian Rankins, and Eldon Rankins; great granddaughter Piper Brooks; several more grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He loved his grandchildren and his wife. Special thanks to Tammy Crouse, who helped take care of him.
