Dwayne Lee Dodd passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the age of 87 years.

Dwayne is the son of Douglas & Jewel (McCalip) Dodd, born on May 1, 1939, in Noble, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in the Norman area. He married Norma Dean Ramsey on December 20, 1958, in Del City, Oklahoma. He worked for several years as an insurance agent, and for fifteen years owned and operated two auto parts stores, Motor Parts Depot and Sanders Automotive. His primary occupation was full-time minister, pastor, and evangelist. He was pastor of Jesus Name Church in Shawnee for ten years. He and Norma shared the gospel in various parts of the state and were blessed with sixty-one years together before she passed away on March 12, 2020. Dwayne was an active member of The Sanctuary in Shawnee, and was involved in various activities and positions of outreach. He enjoyed fishing and shooting guns, and he loved teaching Bible studies and talking to people about the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Dodd; his son, Mike Dodd, and granddaughter Lauren Dodd; three brothers: Gary Smith, Tommy Smith, and Bobby Dodd; one sister, Judy Nix Canning.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Dodd (Kena) of Moore, and Chris Dodd of Tecumseh; four grandchildren: Jeffery Dodd of Ada, Brandon Williams (Jenna) of Moore, Cynthia Dodd-Gleaton of Seattle WA, and Tessia Dodd of Parana, Argentina; three sisters: Rita Puckett of Norman, Pat Larson of Missouri, and Suzanne White of Norman; sister-in-law Jo Ann Dodd of Lexington, and brother-in-law Don Canning of Noble; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 28, 2026, 1:00pm at The Sanctuary, 2100 South Bryant in Shawnee, and Dwayne will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Pastor Vance Bowman is the officiating minister.

Viewing at the funeral home will be Thursday, August 27, 10am - 7pm.
