Obituary

Doris Leona Sumner Lewis passed away on January 22, 2022, at her residence in Yukon, surrounded by her daughters, sister, and granddaughter.

Doris was born May 15, 1933 to Grover & Iva Sumner in Hughes County, Oklahoma. She graduated Gerty High School, Class of 1951. She went on to graduate OCCC and SNU in her later years.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Griffin (Bert) of Cogar, and Brenda Pryor of Mustang; three grandchildren and their spouses: Laura & Nathan Wicker of Cogar, Ben & Charlcy Pryor of Stillwater, and Danny & Natasha Pryor of Mustang; four great grandchildren and their spouses: Daegan & Tyler Peliti, Isaac Stover, Lennon & Ari Pryor; four great great grandchildren: Leighton, Grayson, Jaxson, and Shiloh Peliti; two brothers and their spouses, Ernest & Sallie Sumner of Checotah, and Claude & Maggie Sumner of Okmulgee; two sisters, Loui Livingston of Ada, and Twilla Thorton and husband Jim of Ada.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Lewis; two brothers, Rex Sumner and C.B. Sumner.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 31, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Rock Church in Holdenville, with burial at Non Cemetery, Non, Oklahoma, Claude Sumner officiating. Pallbearers were Ben Pryor, Danny Pryor, Isaac Stover, Nathan Wicker, Tyler Peliti, and Michael Thornton. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Sumner, Ernest Sumner, Don Morris, and Bert Griffin.
