Donnie Gene Mccoy's Obituary
Donnie Gene McCoy passed away in Seminole, Oklahoma on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the age of 66 years.
Donnie is the son of Franklin Lee McCoy & Jewell Mae (Bratcher) McCoy, born on February 16, 1947, in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was brought up in the Lamar and Yeager areas, and attended Wetumka and Moss schools. He lived his entire adult life in Holdenville.
He was married to Nadine Skipworth on October 27, 1967, in Van Buren, Arkansas, and they made their home in Holdenville for 38 years until Nadine passed away on June 9, 2005. Donnie worked many years for John Sherry as a bulldozer operator, and as manager of Wills Concrete. In his spare time, he loved to fish and coon hunt.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Jewell McCoy; his wife, Nadine; daughter, Sue McCoy Rogers, in 2005; granddaughter Tiffani McCoy and grandson Raymond Allen; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald Lee McCoy & Wanda Cennedy McCoy; nephew Frankie Ray McCoy.
He is survived by three children: son Ricky Jess McCoy of Hubbard, Texas, and daughters Joyce Bower and Christina McCoy, both of Holdenville; ten grandchildren: Taysha, Brandon, Blake, Brian, Richard, Wendy, Meghan, Hunter, Cameron, and Courtney; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford & Angie McCoy of Shawnee and Dewayne & Linda McCoy of Chickasha; one sister and brother-in-law, Elaine & John Jones of Calvin; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 27, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Holdenville, and Donnie will be laid to rest in the Lamar Cemetery. Rev. Rick Madron is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Dewayne McCoy, Flint Pattison, Chris Jones, Mike McCoy, John Jones, Hunter Scott, and Clifford McCoy. Honorary pallbearers are Eldon McCoy, Cameron Swadley, Richard Garner, Steven McCoy, Robbie McCoy, Billy McCoy, Jeff Jones, Jeremy McCoy, Lynn McCoy, Travis Noll, Rick McCoy, Adam Foran, Brandon McCoy, Blake McCoy, B. J. Mc Coy, Brian McCoy, Dustyn Zimmerman, Ace Hallmark, Evan Hallmark, and Cody McCoy.
