Donald Lee Long passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the age of 67.
Donald was the son of Nathan Long Sr. & Cindy (McGeeley) Long, born on June 26, 1954, in Talihina, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, and graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1973. He lived most of his life in the Holdenville area, and worked in his younger years for Camp Oil Company and Village Market. He later worked for Wrangler, Wal Mart, and Creek Nation Casino Security before retiring due to failing health. He was a member of Salt Creek Methodist Church. He loved fishing and racing cars and trucks at Thunder Valley, and he loved spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nathan & Cindy Long; three sisters: Martha Long, Frances Long, and Cynthia Long; half-brother Beaver Ward.
He is survived by one sister and one brother, Nancy Long and Nathan 'Dozer' Long Jr, both of Holdenville; one niece, Joni Long of Holdenville, and two nephews, Timothy Long of Calvin and Stephen Giles of Holdenville; four great nephews: Cody Long, Jedidiah Shrum, Aiden Giles, and Tucker Reid Giles, and one great niece, Arya Herrod-Long; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 4, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Salt Creek Methodist Church in Holdenville, with Rev. Paul Fixico and Rev. Louis McGeeley Jr. officiating. Pallbearers were Tim Martin, Ted Martin, Christopher Aultman, Timothy Long, Stephen Giles, and Jedidiah Shrum.
Wake service was Friday, June 3, 6:30 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home-Lillye Chapel.
