Obituary

Donald Wayne ‘Donnie’ Carter passed away at his home in Spaulding, Oklahoma on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of sixty-nine years.

Donnie is the son of Andrew & Dorothy (Tripp) Carter, born on March 22, 1957, in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was brought up in Spaulding and attended Spaulding schools until they were closed, then transferred to Holdenville schools. He joined the U.S. Army in 1975 and served four years in Korea. When he returned home he worked various jobs in the oilfield and became a tool pusher, retiring due to poor health. Some of his favorite things were fishing, flying kites, and making windchimes. He enjoyed working with his hands and was good at building something out of nothing. He loved cats. More than anything, he loved playing with his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andy & Dorothy Carter; brother Eddie Carter; infant son Jason, daughter Angie Gilbert, and infant granddaughter Dalilah.

He is survived by three children: Gabe Carter (Crystal), Sarah Miller, and Crystal Sederquist (Vernon), all of Antlers; nineteen grandchildren: Andrew, Marcus, Kimberley, Kayla, Amber, Anthony, Robert, Nicholas, Kenneth, Aaron, Gracie, Acelee, Dannon, Carter, Jeff, Aresha, Amberly, Dannen, and James; numerous great-grandchildren; four siblings: Janice Bryant of Wewoka, Joetta Wood (Barry) of Yeager, Brenda Sneed (Ricky) of Seminole, and Tony Carter (Laura) of Newalla; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
