Dena 'Sis' Erwin passed away in Midwest City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the age of 83 years.

'Sis' was the daughter of J. R. & Nora Mae (Newman) Davis, born on August 5, 1928, in Seminole County, Oklahoma. She was brought up in the Kemp and Spaulding communities, and attended Spaulding schools.
She worked in the Oklahoma City area, and spent her entire life living in the City or in Holdenville. She loved to work, and in her later years when she didn't want to keep up with all the developing technology, she retired and continued working as a volunteer for Meadowood Baptist Church in Midwest City. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Holdenville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J. R. & Nora Mae Davis; two brothers, Otis Davis and Carl Reuben Davis, and two sisters, Virvie King and Elouise Brown.

She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Henderson, of Midwest City; three grandchildren: Renee Brown and Gary Stapp, both of Shawnee, and Stacey Stapp of Midwest City; three great grandchildren: Brantley Stapp of Midwest City, Ramie Brown and Katy Brown, both of Shawnee; one great great grandson, Landon Decker of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Cecil Davis of Midwest City and A. J. Davis of Spaulding; two sisters-in-law, Muriel Davis of Midwest City and Patsy Davis of Moore; a special nephew and wife, Ralph & Saundra Lawrence of Moore, who were especially kind in helping care for Sis during her illness; several nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Graveside services will be held and Sis will be laid to rest on Friday, October 21, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Tate Mountain Cemetery south of Wewoka, Oklahoma, with Rev. Lloyd Cross officiating.
