DeEtta Wardlow passed away at her home in Holdenville on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at the age of 80 years.
DeEtta was the daughter of John William Grizzle & Mary Etta (Saunders) Grizzle, born on October 5, 1942, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools. She graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1960. She was married to Philip Wardlow on May 26, 1962. They lived in California for ten years before returning in 1975 to Holdenville, their home for 48 years. Philip passed away at their home on January 1, 2022.
DeEtta worked for fifteen years at WalMart in Holdenville as Assistant Manager, and for seventeen years for the Tag Agency. She enjoyed coloring, playing casino games on her tablet and working in the yard, especially growing flowers. She loved her family more than anything. Our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother will be forever missed, and has left a large hole in our family and hearts.

She is survived by four children: Chris Wardlow (Kay Lynn) of Norman, Keith Wardlow (Angelia) of Holdenville, Rayelene Wilkerson (Gary Skeen), and John Wardlow (Jennifer) of Peidmont; ten grandchildren: Garrett Wardlow (Savannah), Morgan Graham (Jacob), Bryce Wardlow (Robin Wooten), Bethany Farrar (Dustin), Garrett Wardlow, Breanna Hill (Michah), Aspen Wardlow (Dustin Caldwell), Brayden Winters, Reagan Wardlow, and Emma Wardlow; twelve great grandchildren: Blake Wardlow, Raden Tillery, Rylee Caldwell, Wyatt Wardlow, Stryker Wardlow, Zayden Hill, Landon Hill, Rylee Hill, Maverick Farrar, Wesson Farrar, Aci Caldwell, and Adi Caldwell; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, 10:00am at Fisher Funeral Home-Lillye Chapel, and DeEtta was laid to rest at Glory Cemetery in Holdenville, with Rev. Dane Robinson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Wardlow, Keith Wardlow, John Wardlow, Brayden Winters, and Gary Skeen.
