Debra Ann Blackwood passed away at her home in Holdenville on Wednesday morning, June 5, 2013, at the age of 53 years.
Debra was the daughter of David A. Blackwood & Bonnie Jean (Barnes) Blackwood, born on May 22, 1960, in Modesto, California. The family lived in Riverbank, California until she was ten years old, then moved to south Oklahoma City. Debra attended elementary schools in Oklahoma City and Jones, and Roff High School. She moved to Holdenville in 1999 and after moving back to Oklahoma City for a short while, returned to Holdenville and made her home here for the past twelve years.
She worked in construction and as a waitress. She loved the outdoors and her favorite things were boating, fishing, and deer hunting. She loved taking care of her dog, Bella.
Debra is preceded in death by her grandparents; her daughter, Garade Jean Girshback; one nephew, Jacob Moore.
She is survived by two daughters, Ayla Ann Fern and husband Brian of Eagletown, Oklahoma, and Ava Marie Lamphier of Buckeye, Arizona; five grandchildren: Abby Kirkpatrick, Jasper Buncik, Ashlyn Fern, Breezy Fern, Claud Thomas Fern; parents Dave & Jean Blackwood of Holdenville; one sister, Sue Moore of Oklahoma City; nephew Joshua Moore of Oklahoma City; various other family members and many friends. She will always be loved and missed.
A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Debra's home in Holdenville.
