David Chance Weeks passed away in Carson, Oklahoma on Tuesday morning, April 7, 2015, at the age of 74 years.
David was the son of David Chance Weeks Sr. & Eva Jane (Simpson) Weeks, born on October 31, 1940, in Kennett, Missouri. The family moved to California when David was eight years old, and he spent many years in the Coalinga area before moving to Oklahoma and settling in the Carson/Lamar area.
David spent most of his life as an oilfield Roughneck, both in California and in Oklahoma. He enjoyed doing a little farming after moving to Oklahoma, and he loved fishing and taking care of his mules. He attended various churches in the Lamar area.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David & Eva Weeks; his wife, Pat; two brothers, Alvin Weeks and Kenneth Weeks, and two sisters, Faye Williamson and Jo Ann Brown.
He is survived by one daughter, Angela Mercado of Waynesville, Missouri; three grandsons: Kyle Mercado, Nickolas Mercado, and Joseph Chance Mercado, all of Waynesville, Missouri; three sisters: Sylvia Chin of Hanford, California, Evelene Cummins of Bakersfield, California, and Wanda Mooney of Holdenville; several nieces and nephews, various other family members, and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015, and David will be laid to rest in the Lamar Cemetery. Rev. Mark Milligan is the officiating minister.
