David Franklin Cook passed away in Shawnee on Monday, February 6, 2017, at the age of 75 years. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel.
David was the son of B. C. & Nadine Doris (McDonald) Cook, born on February 2, 1942, in Calvin, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. He married Peggy Jane Dunlap in 1962 and they were blessed with two sons, Randy and Kevin.
David worked most of his life in the oilfield, and was a driller for Bronco Drilling Company when he retired in 2004. His favorite things were hunting, fishing, and gardening, along with carpentry and woodworking. He loved Football and was an avid fan of OU and the Green Bay Packers. He has lived in the Wewoka area with his longtime companion, Nancy Reimer, for the past twenty years.
David is preceded in death by his parents, B. C. & Doris Cook; one brother, Larry Cook; his wife, Christine Wolfe Cook.
He is survived by two sons, Randy Cook (Christy) of McLoud, and Kevin Cook (Amy) of Shawnee; three grandchildren: Savanna Jones (Jake) of Maud, Kaylee Cook of McLoud, and Brody Peters of Shawnee; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Kay Jones of Maud; two brothers, Bill Cook (Angie) of Sand Springs, and Vernon Cook (Doris) of Gerty; one sister, Kathy Larabee of Calvin; his companion, Nancy Reimer, of the home; Glen Reimer, whom he considered a son, of Dallas TX; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
