Darryl E. Anderson
passed away at his home in Atwood on Friday afternoon, May 1, 2015, at the age of 60 years.
Darryl was the son of Donald G. Anderson & Marlene (Elerick) Anderson, born on February 7, 1955, at Tinker Air Force Base Hospital in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Choctaw, Oklahoma, and graduated Choctaw High School in 1973. He attended Oklahoma State University for one year.
Darryl married Lanita S. Hignite on January 2, 1976, in Jones, Oklahoma. They lived for several years in the Oklahoma City area until moving in 1990 to Atwood, their home for the past 25 years. Darryl worked for several years as a carpenter, and then worked 27 years for Lexington Heliport as Avionics Technicians Supervisor, retiring in 2007. He was retired also from the Oklahoma National Guard. He loved to play guitar, fish and hunt, argue with his kids, and watch old Westerns - Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Rifleman were his favorites.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lanita, of the home; two children, Jesse Anderson (Sonja), and Katy Anderson, all of Ada; one grandson, Xander Samson, also of Ada; his mother, Marlene Anderson of Vian; two brothers, Craig Anderson (Linda) of Warner, and Michael Anderson of Vian; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Graveside services will be held and Darryl will be laid to rest in the Atwood Cemetery on Monday, May 4, 2015, 2:00 p.m.
