Darrel Sneed passed away at his home near Holdenville on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the age of 65 years.

Darrel was the son of Liss & Beulah (Milam) Sneed, youngest of twelve children. He was born on August 15, 1951, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools, and lived most of his life. He worked as a machinist and heavy equipment operator, mainly the dozer. He worked several years as head of Holdenville's Sanitary Landfill Department.

He loved music and was a musician of exceptional talent. He wrote songs and played in bands and knew how to play any instrument he put his hands on. Some of his favorite things were photography, scuba diving and he enjoyed researching genealogy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Liss & Beulah Sneed; three brothers: Stanley "Jack" Sneed, D.L. "Dot" Sneed and Orville Sneed; one sister, Billie Barnes.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Becky & Charlie Romberg; two grandsons, Adam Romberg and Bryce Romberg; two great granddaughters, Addison Romberg and Rhemi Romberg, all of Holdenville; three brothers: Herbert Sneed (Venita), John Sneed (Harriet), all of Wewoka, and Brownie Sneed (Linda) of Wetumka; four sisters: Betty Sneed of Fort Worth TX, Cleta Parks of Granbury TX, Barbara Goodwin of Prescott Valley AZ, and Lissa Cross (Buster) of Seminole; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Holdenville Elks Lodge located at 120 South Echo.
