DARL EUGENE WHEELER passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Sunday morning, June 12, 2016,at the age of 82 years.

Darl was the son of John Washington Wheeler & Ruth (Bowman) Wheeler, born on May 21, 1934, in Rackett, Missouri. His mother passed away at age 26, and he was brought up from early childhood by his stepmother, Irene (Hodges) Wheeler. The family lived in Modesto, California, where Darl graduated Modesto High School. He served in the U.S. Army in San Pedro, California, and following military service worked as a truck driver. He retired and moved to the Holdenville area in the early 1990s, where he met Carolyn Sue McCoy. Darl & Sue were married in 1994, and have made their home in Holdenville for the past 22 years.

Darl is preceded in death by his parents, John & Ruth Wheeler, and his stepmother, Irene Wheeler; also by one brother, Ernest Lee Wheeler.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue, of the home; daughter Lori T'Souvas and son Mike Wheeler, both of California; two stepdaughters, Stacie Burgess and Kristie Regger, both of Texas; four brothers: Ray, Herbert, Harold, and Clifford; two sisters, Marti and Alene; one sister-in-law, Betty Phillips (Harold) of Holdenville; numerous other family members, and many friends.
