Danny Charles Walton passed away at his home in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at the age of 49 years.

Danny was the son of Charles Samuel Walton & Peggy Lynn (Lester) Walton, born on October 25, 1964 in Fresno, California. The family moved when Danny was a child to Holdenville, Oklahoma, where he grew up and attended schools, graduated Holdenville High School with the class of 1983, and met the love of his life, Christy Curlee, HHS class of 1988.

Danny & Christy lived in the Fort Worth area for twenty years, but maintained their home in Holdenville. Danny worked seventeen years for Advantage Steel in Fort Worth, and for the past 2-1/2 years had worked as safety coordinator for J-Mac Tool of Azle, Texas.

Danny loved everything. He liked working on cars, particularly dune buggies, and anything else he could try to figure out. He enjoyed fixing things that were broken, putting things together, and once took his watch apart to see how it worked and how to put it back into working order. He was talented and creative, loved to draw, and build oil well replicas from match sticks. Dune buggies were one of his favorite things, and he loved spending time on the river driving and racing buggies. He loved to laugh, he loved even more making other people laugh, and was known to really enjoy playing pranks on his friends, which caused his wife to often remind him that his job was Safety Coordinator. He was loved by all, and gave his heart to all. He never met a stranger. Danny filled the world with love.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dick & Elba Walton, maternal grandmother, Geneva Lester, and his father, Charles Samuel Walton.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Christy Curlee, of the home; his mother, Peggy Mayo of Holdenville; his grandfather, Hubert Lester of Holdenville; two brothers, Keith Walton of Holdenville and Hugh Brent 'Bub' Walton of Hooks, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Sandy & Mike Pierce of Holdenville; numerous other family members and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 15, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Holdenville, and Danny will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Ronald Mayfield is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Keith Wardlow, Don Merriman, Billy Weaver, Johnny Weaver, Cudge Walton, Steve Walton, Colton Pierce, and Mike Pierce. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Carpenter, Cory Zellner, Chris Booth, and Tyce Barlow.

Visitation and viewing for Danny will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13.
