Christian Andersen 'Chris' Teal passed away in Holdenville on Wednesday evening, June 25, 2014, at the age of 57 years.
Chris was born in Fort Worth, Texas on November 2, 1956, to Colonel Tom & Mary (Wall) Teal. He was brought up and attended schools in various parts of the country due to his father's military career. He graduated high school in the Fort Worth area.
Chris married Fredi Russell on February 6, 1996, in Fort Worth, where they lived before moving to Michigan in 2001. After only a year in Michigan, they moved to Gerty in 2002, lived there for ten years and then in 2012 moved to their current home in the Atwood community.
Chris worked over the years in pool construction and maintenance, while attending East Central University in Ada and earning his bachelors degree in Counseling, with a minor in Criminal Justice. He was pursuing his masters degree in Counseling.
College, learning, and doing research were among Chris's favorite things. He enjoyed gardening, too, and loved spending time with his dogs, faithful companions he called his 'fur babies': Hugo, Coco, Hudkey, Sister, and Hoppie.
Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Teal, and his stepson, Dustin Harmon.
He is survived by his beloved wife of eighteen years, Fredi, of the home; four stepchildren: Dade Harmon of Padukah, Kentucky, Derrick Harmon (Audra) of Howard City, Michigan, Danielle TerMolen (Steven) of Midwest City, Desirae Jones (George) of Lexington; ten step grandchildren; his father, Colonel Tom Teal (ret) of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Pamela Dunbar (Allan) of Fort Worth, Texas; one niece Teal Dunbar and one nephew Carter Dunbar; various other family members, and many friends.
