Carol Ann
'Chick' Gunville
May 28, 1968 – October 23, 2024
Carol Ann Gunville passed away in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, October 23, 2024, at the age of 56 years.
Carol is the daughter of James & Hilly (Hill) Gunville, born on May 28, 1968, in Talihina, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in the New Lima community south of Wewoka. She later attended the Native American Center in Oklahoma City, where she met lifelong friends. She was married in 1985 to Tuan Quach in Oklahoma City, and they were blessed with four children: Kimberly, Brian, Joshua, and Hillary. Carol made Oklahoma City her home for her entire adult life. She was kind and very generous, and went out of her way to feed the homeless. Some of her favorite things were garage sales, junking, and thrifting. She enjoyed gathering wild onions. She loved singing, and had a beautiful voice. Some of her recordings were played on local radio stations and she was invited twice to sing at the Oklahoma Opry, but declined. She loved watching her favorite TV shows: Little House on the Prairie, Golden Girls, I Love Lucy, and Law & Order. More than anything, she loved her family and friends. She loved family get togethers and just hanging out with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents James & Hilly Gunville, son Brian, and infant grandchildren Elias and Iris.
She is survived by three children: Kimberly Quach, Joshua Quach, and Hillary Quach; three grandchildren: Emilia Quach, Mathias Quach, and Jordyn Quach; two brothers, Olie Gunville of Earlsboro, and Kevin Gunville (Janelle) of Bowlegs; sister Katie Gunville of Earlsboro; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 28, 2024, 1:00pm at New Hope Fellowship in Cromwell, and Carol was laid to rest at the Moses Family Cemetery south of Wewoka. Bro. Olie Gunville and Pastor Mickey Hill were the officiating ministers. Pallbearers were J. D. Hill, Patrick Carpitcher, Russell Gunville, Vincent Trevino, Phillip Moreno, and Tyler Dennis. Honorary pallbearers were Travis Grandstaff, Carmeron Gunville, Nicholas Gunville, Joshua Haun, Eric Wise, Mickey Hill, Aaron Hill, and Marvin Medina.
