Brenda G. Moody passed away in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at the age of 61 years.
Brenda was the daughter of J. E. & Gladys (Saxon) Robertson, born on January 31, 1058, in Hugo, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools through eighth grade. The family moved to Bowlegs, where Brenda graduated Bowlegs High School. She took a year off after graduation, and then attended East Central University in Ada, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and for a few years taught Computer Science classes. She also worked in food service for several years, as manager for Long John Silver's, and later as manager for Burger King. In recent years, she left the public work force and enjoyed being a homemaker.
Brenda was married to Edwin Moody on June 10, 1994, at Whitestone Baptist Church in Cromwell, Oklahoma. They lived for fifteen years in Wewoka, then moved to Bowlegs where they lived for fifteen years until October of 2019, when fire destroyed their home and they returned to Wewoka.
Some of Brenda's favorite things were arts & crafts, photography, and fishing. She enjoyed playing games, especially Mexican Train dominoes, Moon, Phase 10, and Zilch. She enjoyed sewing, and made all her daughter's clothes for many years. She loved spending time and doing arts & crafts with her granddaughter, Melissa, and serving as Scout Leader for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts while her children were participants in the Scouts program. Until its closure, she was a member of Whitestone Baptist Church in Cromwell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J. E. & Gladys Robertson; her husband of 25 years, Edwin Moody, on August 14, 2018; six brothers: J. L. 'Wimp' Robertson, Terry Lloyd Robertson, Randy Lynn Robertson, Jimmy Dale Robertson, Donald Wayne Robertson, and Jackie Ervin Robertson, and one sister, Geraldine Kean.
She is survived by her twin children, A. J. 'Rickey' Moody and Misty Smith, both of Wewoka; one granddaughter, Melissa Smith of Wewoka; four sisters: Glenda Kelsey (John) of Amber, Carol Palmer of Bowlegs, Joyce 'Cathy' Jones (Paul) of Sasakwa, and Barbara Bible (Jack) of Wewoka; two stepchildren, Travis White (Lori) of Chickasha, and Elizabeth Miller (Bryan) of Chickasha; four step grandchildren: Amanda White, Colton White, Melvina White, and Bryan Miller; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, 10:30 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, with interment at Wolf Cemetery, Wolf OK. Mr. Clive Codhran was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were Paul Jones, John Kelsey, James Kelsey, Aaron Ledbetter, Justin Weaver, Clay Chaney, Donald Lee Robertson, Earl Smith, Richard Allen, Travis White, and Dusty Irons.
