Bonnie Lee Gillaspy passed away in Holdenville on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at the age of 80 years.
Bonnie was the daughter of Albert Russell 'Bob' Stone and Lula Mae (Freeman) Stone, born on August 15, 1937, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She was brought up in Harjo, Oklahoma, and attended schools in the Tecumseh area. She was married to Lloyd Eldon Stone, Sr. in 1953, and they lived for a while in Shawnee before moving to Colorado. They returned to Oklahoma in 1969 and lived in Seminole and Shawnee. Bonnie worked for many years as a waitress and also as a health provider. She later married Bill Gillaspy on February 14, 1986. When her health began to fail, she moved to Holdenville to be near family, in 2009.
Bonnie enjoyed word search puzzles, doing embroidery and beadwork, and playing Bingo. She loved visiting with friends, and attending Faith Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her dogs. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and she was extremely proud of them all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob & Lula Stone; her daughter, Brenda Stone; two brothers, James Stone and Jerry Stone; two nephews, Timothy Cantrell and Jackie Cantrell; two brothers in law, Grady Snider and Virgil Young.
She is survived by two children, Beverly Sanford (Kenneth) of Holdenville, and Lloyd Eldon Stone, Jr. (Kathy) of Loon Lake, WA; five grandchildren: William Sanford, Shawn Sanford, Misty Kirkland (David), all of Holdenville, Amy Carder (Preston) of Shawnee, and Chris Stone (Rachyl) of Keller, TX; eight great grandchildren: Ski, Jayce, Tracelee, Imani, Levi, Dixie, Casey, and Lexey; great great granddaughter, Jasmine; four sisters: Betty Adams (Darwin) of Oklahoma City, Barbara Cantrell (Weldon), Bobbie Snider, and Billie Steele, all of Shawnee; numerous nieces and nephews, and other family members; many friends, including special friends Cora Lee, Lorraine Sewell, Liz Tiger, Leann Cavanaugh, Cora Couffer, and Tammy Venable, along with residents and staff of Boyce Manor Nursing Home.
Bonnie's family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Tom Osborn, and also to Angelic Hospital of Shawnee.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 25, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Holdenville, and Bonnie was laid to rest at Non Cemetery. Rev. Earl Scroggins was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were William Sanford, Shawn Sanford, Levi Sanford, Chris Stone, Imani Dindy, and David Kirkland. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Snider, Scott Snider, Preston Carder, Justin Keith, Dixie Sanford, and Cody Sanford.
