Bobby Lee Shelton was born to Walter Scott Shelton and Bertie Marie (Harris) Shelton on June 13, 1933 in Coleman, Oklahoma. He left this earth on February 16, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.
Preceeded in death by both parents; one infant son, Martin Lynn Shelton; two adult sons, Dale Austin Shelton and Larry Scott Shelton; wife Theo Christine (Hawkins) Shelton; one grandson, Christopher Scott Shelton; three brothers, Willard Shelton, Jimmy Shelton, Junior Shelton, and one sister, Juanita Shelton Taylor.
Left to cherish his memories are his best friend, love and partner, Betty Cantrell, of the home; Betty's children, whom he loved as his own, Kenneth and Roxy; daughter Courtney Wyrick and husband Mark, of Seminole; grandchildren: Jackelyn Shelton, Kyle Shelton, Scotlyn Shelton, Matthew Wyrick, and Aaron Wyrick, all of Seminole; great grandchildren: Serinady, Blaiden, Alexis, Aaliyah, Zach, Austin, and Lexi; one brother, Cletus Shelton and wife June, of Crowder; sisters-in-law Jeanie Barbee and husband Randy, of Wilburton, and Gayla Weldon and partner John Rhoden of Menifee CA; a host of nieces, nephews, those he loved as his own, and close friends.
Bobby loved farming and gardening and telling stories. Bobby was always there to lend a hand, quick to share what he had, and always had a pot of coffee on. What he loved the most was his family and friendships.
The family will miss him dearly, but take comfort in knowing he is with his savior and free of his earthly bounds. His memory will live forever in our hearts and in our many stories of him. Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018, and Bobby was laid to rest at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma.
