Obituary

Bobby Lee 'Bob' Loftis passed away in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Monday, April 1, 2019, at the age of 89 years.
Bob was the son of Robert B. Loftis & Gertrude Loftis, born on January 1, 1930, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, and graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1948. He attended Oklahoma University for four years and earned a Bachelors Degree in Business. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and served in Japan as an accountant.
Following his military service, Bob returned to Oklahoma and worked in his father's furniture store business. He married Mary Jo Dennis and they had two daughters, Lori and Lynn, along with Mary Jo's three children, Tom, Joe, and LeaAnn. Bob opened his first furniture store in McAlester, Oklahoma, in 1965, and in 1968 moved his family to Muskogee, where he opened Bob Loftis Furniture Store and was active also in the oil and gas business.
Bob loved to golf, play the stock market, and study politics; but his passion was business - in particular, his furniture store that he owned and operated in Muskogee for more than 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Gertrude Loftis; five siblings: infant twin sisters, brother Roy, whose twin also died in infancy, and J. B.; his stepson, Tom.
