Billy George 'Bill' Jones passed away in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the age of 83 years.

Bill was the son of George Henry Jones & Ethel Lee (Cargile) Jones, born on November 2, 1931, in Brownfield, Texas. He was brought up and attended schools in Strathmore, California. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1951, and married the love of his life the same year, at the age of 19. Dorothy Dean Stites became his wife on April 6, 1951, in Bakersfield, California, and lived with him in Texas for the duration of Army basic training. They were stationed for three years in England, where they were blessed with their first child, their son Ronald.

Following military service, Bill & Dorothy returned to California and lived in Modesto for a few years, and then in San Jose, where their two daughters, Cindy and Pam, were born. They moved their family back to Modesto, where Bill owned and operated his own auto mechanic shop, then moved to Strathmore in 1965. Bill worked a short time for the Ford dealership garage, then was self employed for some fifteen years in Strathmore before moving his family to Holdenville, Oklahoma in 1980.

Bill & Dorothy owned and operated a mobile home sales business in Holdenville for many years, and then moved to Prague in 2002, and lived there for several years, along with both their daughters and sons-in-law. They were a vital part of their daughter Pam's real estate business, maintaining sign placement and removal, minding the office and grandson, repairing or replacing anything broken - just enjoying a very busy retirement, before moving in 2012 to their current home in Seminole.

Bill was one of those exceptional men blessed with the confidence that he could do just about anything he set his mind to, and the faith to accept every opportunity to do so. He worked hard and was a successful businessman, and he and Dorothy enjoyed being 'Snowbirds', traveling from Oklahoma to Niland, California, living in their motor home or RV for three months out of every winter for thirteen years. He was good at woodworking, and crafted various handmade treasures, from beautiful jewelry stands for the dressing room to whimsical birdhouses for the yard.

He enjoyed going to the spa, and golf was one of his favorite things, particularly on a desert course. He was a member of the VFW. Church was his thing, all the social activity and spiritual solitude he needed. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Holdenville and in Prague. More than anything, he loved the Lord and he loved his family. He was dearly loved in return, and will be sorely missed.

Bill is preceded is death by his parents, George & Ethel Jones; his son, Ronald, in a motorcycle accident in 1972, at the age of 18; four siblings: O. B. Jones, Merle Stanford, Claude Jones, and Marie Lawrence.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, his best friend and confidant, Dorothy, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy & Joe Painter of Dayton, Ohio, and Pam & Harvey Robinson of Prague; three grandchildren: Leanne Shockley and husband, Lt. Col(s) Jeremiah Shockley, PhD, of Dayton, Ohio, Emily Denney and husband, Dr. Heath Denney, Pharm.D, of Ada, and Dillon Robinson and wife Chelsea, of Seminole; five great grandchildren: Liberty Shockley, Luke Shockley, Everett Denney, Max Denney, and Kate Denney; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Graveside services were held in the Holdenville Cemetery Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, and Bill was laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Wehrli was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were Josh Bowles, Bobby Bennett, Joe Painter, Jeremiah Shockley, Jim Utterback, and Steve Schoaps.
