Obituary

Betty Lou West passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the age of 93 years.

Betty was the daughter of Richard Clinton McCoin & Marie (McCulley) McCoin, born on January 5, 1925, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools. She graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1943, and attended Hill's Business College in Oklahoma City.

She was married to William Le Roy 'Bill' West on August 11, 1946, in Oklahoma City. They lived for seven years in New Jersey, then returned to Oklahoma in 1953. Betty worked for six years in Admitting at Valley View Hospital in Ada, and then was employed for twenty-eight years at Ada Federal Credit Union, where she was Manager from 1983 until she retired in 1994. They moved to Holdenville in 2015. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage before Bill passed away on January 29, 2017.

Betty was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ada. One of her favorite things was collecting antiques. She was creative and talented, and loved to paint and refinish furniture.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard & Marie McCoin; her daughter, Candace Louise West; two brothers, Robert McCoin and Richard McCoin; two sisters, Helen Pasley and Mary McKenzie.

She is survived by her son, Richard William 'Bill' West, and grandson John William West, both of Lufkin TX; one sister and brother-in-law, Joy & Leo Epperley of Holdenville; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, and Betty was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery.
