Betty June Carter passed away at her home in Holdenville on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the age of 82 year.
Betty was the daughter of Thomas & Ella Mae (Stubblefield) Jackson, born on August 12, 1933, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools. She married Dan Mantle in Holdenville and moved to California, where she lived for four years before returning to Holdenville. She was married to Lawton Carter in Holdenville on December 29, 1973, who passed away after 40 years together, on May 19, 2013.
Betty enjoyed gardening, and loved cooking and collecting recipes. Her favorite thing was enjoying the company of her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Ella Mae Jackson, and her husband, Lawton Carter.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam & Eric Johnson of Fremont CA; two grandchildren, Graham Johnson and Daniel Johnson, also of Fremont; one sister, Jo Freeman of Garden City KS; other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Holdenville Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at 1:00 p.m.
