Ben D. Curtis, 72, passed away in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
Ben was the son of Moses Taylor Curtis & Florene (Vines) Curtis, born on March 13, 1941, in Sims, Arkansas. He was brought up and attended schools in New Mexico and California, and graduated San Jacinto High School in 1959. He worked for many years in construction and as a truck driver.
Ben moved to Wewoka in 1993. He cut and baled hay for several years until his health failed. He made a lot of friends and enjoyed visiting with them in various coffee shops. He loved to fish and hunt and travel, but his favorite thing was flying remote-control model airplanes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Moses & Florene Curtis; brother, Jerry Curtis and sister, Donna Sharp.
He is survived by three children: Tim Curtis and wife Pam of Elk Grove, California, Cary Wilkerson and husband Richard and Gary Curtis and wife Deanne, all of Arlington, Texas; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two brothers, James Curtis and wife Sharon of Elk Grove, and Tony Curtis and wife Karen of Wewoka; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Lillye Chapel here in our funeral home.
