Barbara Kay Hopkins, longtime resident of Boyce Manor Nursing Home in Holdenville, passed away in Ada, Oklahoma, on Monday, May 3, 2021, at the age of 72 years.

Barbara was the daughter of James & Maydell (Newby) Hopkins, born on September 22, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was brought up in the Putnam Heights area of Oklahoma City, and attended Central School, where she was a member of the Y-Club. She was a good Christian woman who loved to pray and read her Bible. She loved her family, and loved family gatherings. She loved her grandchildren, babysat all of them at some point, and raised some of them. She lived most of her life in the south side of Oklahoma City.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James & Maydell Hopkins, and two brothers, Benny and Jimmy.

She is survived by four sons: Charles Brown, Robert Brown, Jason Brown, all of Oklahoma City, and John Truesdale of Enid; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services were held and Barbara was laid to rest on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens located at SW 104th Street in Oklahoma City, with Mr. Billy Lewis officiating.
