Anne Phillips passed away in Wewoka, Oklahoma on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at the age of 93 years.
Anne was born in Seminole County, Oklahoma on August 21, 1924, to Palmer Wolfe and Salina (Nero) Wolfe. She attended Bowlegs and New Lima schools, graduating from New Lima High School in 1946. In May of 1946, she married Bill Phillips. To this union was born two children, Billy Phillips and Darrell Phillips. Anne worked as a seamstress for Big Yank in Wewoka. For more than forty years, she was a member of Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka. She loved garage sales. Her boys were her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bill Phillips, in 1996; three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her two sons, Billy Phillips and wife Saretta of Ada, and Darrell Phillips of Wewoka; nine grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren; other family members and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka, and Anne was laid to rest at the Johnson Family Cemetery. Rev. Larry Chesser and Rev. Tony Chesser were the officiating ministers. Pallbearers were Derryck Phillips, Dustin Phillips, Dray Phillips, John Bristow, Steven Brummett, and Ross Brummett. Honorary pallbearers were Dawson Phillips, Ethan Phillips, Bear Culley, and Josiah Bristow.
