Obituary

Jackson Lawson, 102, went home to be with his Saviour on September 3, 2014.

Jackson was born Andrew Jackson on September 25, 1911, in Mangum, Oklahoma to Andrew Nicholas & Dulcina (Cassell) Lawson. The family moved to the Gerty area when he was a young boy. Jackson married Corda Levingston, January 8, 1933, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Non Free Will Baptist Church since 1954.

Jackson is preceded in death by his wife, Corda, one infant daughter, his parents, Andrew and Dulcina, one son Bobby of Ada, Oklahoma, and two brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by a son, Buddy and wife Arlene of Non, Oklahoma, a daughter, Wilyene Wallace and husband Sonny of Allen, Oklahoma, a daughter-in-law, June Lawson of Ada, Oklahoma, a sister Maedean Raney of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Jackson was a long-time rancher and farmer in the Gerty area. He served on the Gerty school board for several years and was a board member of the soil conservation board for Hughes County for several years. He also loved to visit and play dominoes. He was not immune to playing jokes on people and loved to laugh.

Services were held on Monday, September 8, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at the Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Allen, Oklahoma, with Pastor, Reverend Buddy Drake and Reverend Gary Dodson officiating. Jackson was laid to rest in the Citra Cemetery.
