Obituary

Andrew Jackson 'Butch' Newton III passed away at his home in Holdenville on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2013, at the age of 66 years.

Butch was the son of Andrew Jackson Newton Jr. & Neona Doris (Day) Newton, born on February 1, 1947, in Weleetka, Oklahoma. The family traveled around the state following his father's oil field work, and Butch attended various Oklahoma schools. They lived primarily in Cleveland, and Butch was a graduate of Cleveland High School.

He married Anna Mae Swift on February 9, 1968, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. They continued the family tradition of following Oklahoma oil field work, and lived in Barnsdall, Cleveland, and Cushing, before settling in the Holdenville area in 1977.

Butch loved to hunt and fish, and paint with oils. He was a member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Doris Newton; his son, Andrew Jackson 'Drew' Newton IV, in 2011; two grandsons, Andy Joe Kibby and Drew Jaxon Kibby; one brother, John Henry Newton.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Anna, of the home; three children: Jerrianna Kindrick and husband Keith, Andrea Crawford and husband Donald, and Amy Newton and companion Delbert Kibby, all of Holdenville; ten grandchildren: Derron Sisco of the home, Hunter Kibby of Holdenville, Nicholis Kindrick of Wyoming, Christina Chambers of Oregon, Robert Crawford of Holdenville, Levi Arsee of Wewoka, Jalyn Cene of Tahlequah, Jesse Kibby and Joseph Kibby, both of Weleetka, and M. J. Hannah of Seminole; eight great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Glenda & Jesse Swift of Holdenville; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, and Butch will be laid to rest in the Wetumka Cemetery. Rev. John Roberts and Rev. Earl Scroggins are the officiating ministers.
