Amy Marie
Mcdaniel
January 4, 1974 – May 19, 2024
Amy Marie McDaniel passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the age of 50 years.
Amy is the daughter of Kenneth Lloyal Conn & Mary Margaret (Jones) Conn, born on January 4, 1974, in Corpus Christy, Texas. She was brought up in various parts of the United States until her family settled in Holdenville in the early 1980s, where Amy graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1992. She attended East Central University in Ada and earned her bachelor's degree in education in 1996. She worked for twenty-six years as a devoted special education teacher for the Holdenville School District, and only her own family was more precious to Amy than the children she taught. Her family was the joy of her life and more than anything, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She especially loved following her grandson Chevy's ball games and any of his school events. Her two grandsons and one granddaughter were her delight. She was a member of the Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church in Holdenville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth & Mary Conn, and her brother, Kenneth Conn Jr.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Skylar & Dalton Meeks, and three grandchildren: Chevy Meeks, Tate Meeks, and Mallorie Meeks, all of Holdenville; a special friend she considered a bonus daughter, Whitney Crawford of Wewoka; aunts and uncles, cousins, other family members, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, 1:00pm at Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church in Holdenville, and Amy was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery, with Rev. Dane Robinson officiating. Pallbearers were Dalton Meeks, Sonny Smith, Chris Roan, Coltan Meeks, Rodney Crawford, and Jon Branscum.
