Amos Jackson Yahola Jr. passed away at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City on Sunday, May 19, 2013. He was 30 years old.
Amos was the son of Amos Jackson Yahola Sr. & Linda (Jacobs) Yahola, born on July 23, 1982, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. In his childhood years, his family moved back and forth between Colorado and Oklahoma, and Amos attended schools in both Denver and Holdenville. He lived his adult life in Oklahoma, in various places including Wetumka, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City, but always returned to live in Holdenville. He enjoyed fishing, and loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Amos Yahola Sr., maternal grandparents Joseph Sr. & Millie Mae Emma Jacobs, paternal grandparents Alex & Minnie Yahola, and three uncles.
He is survived by two daughters, Ehole Yahola and Meske Yahola, both of Wetumka; his mother and stepfather, Linda & Edward Harjo of Holdenville; three brothers: Joseph Yahola of Holdenville, Franklin Yahola and wife Faron of Tulsa, and Terry Yahola of Bullhead, Arizona; four sisters: Susie Yahola of McLoud, Minnie Yahola of Seminole, Carry Yahola of Wetumka, and Melinda Calisay and husband Carlos, of Mountain View, Oklahoma; five aunts: Betty Tiger and husband Malcomb of Holdenville, Virginia Powell of Seminole, Imogene Ingram, Ella Matthews and husband Mark, all of Tulsa, and Martha Jacobs of Henryetta; nine uncles: Lewis Yahola of Seminole, Jonas Yahola of Tulsa, Benjamin Yahola and Raymond Yahola, both of Tulsa, Russell Jacobs of Henryetta, Paul Jacobs of Okmulgee, Johnny Jacobs and wife Clara, David Jacobs, and Joseph Jacobs Jr., all of Henryetta; numerous nieces and nephews, many other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 23, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Pecan Grove Methodist Church north of Holdenville. Amos will be laid to rest at Yeager Cemetery.
A wake will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, May 22, at Pecan Grove Methodist Church. Procession from the funeral home to the church will be at 4:00 p.m.
Officiating ministers are Rev. Mitchell Taylor and Rev. Malcomb Tiger.
