Obituary

Agnes Marie (Harjo) Stoneroad passed away at her home in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the age of 71 years.

Agnes was the daughter of Rev. Alfred Harjo & Mattie (Deer) Harjo, born on September 23, 1941, in Talihina, Oklahoma. She was reared in the Holdenville/Seminole County area, and grew up on the campuses of Salt Creek Church and Thlewarley Church. She graduated Holdenville High School in 1959. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio for a year to attend cosmetology school, lived in Tulsa for a couple of years, then settled in Oklahoma City, where she lived most of her adult life.

She worked for the Wix Dana Corporation as a supervisor in air filter production. She was well-versed in her Bible reading, and also loved to read romance novels. She loved most spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, to whom she was a very special 'Nana'.

Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred & Mattie Harjo; two brothers, Raymond Harjo and Jimmy Ray Harjo, and one sister, Helen Cook; two nephews, Harold Harjo and Ernest Cook.

She is survived by four children: William George Stoneroad Jr. of Oklahoma City, Lisa Parkerson and husband Dale, of Cromwell, Mary Stoneroad of Oklahoma City, and Nancy Stoneroad Harjo and husband Jerry, of Del City; nine grandchildren: Nicole, Elizabeth, Deanaira, Dale III, Aaron, Marissa, Daniel, Damien, and Derrick; two great grandchildren, Isaiah and Emilee; one brother, Leonard Harjo and wife Augustine, of Okemah, and one sister, Linda McIntosh of Yukon; two special sisters, Pat Cook of Holdenville and Norean Tiger of Holdenville; three sisters-in-law: Marie Kent and husband Edgar, of Oklahoma City, Lois Wilson and husband James, of Edmond, and Wilma Meeks of El Reno; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 1, 2012, 1:30 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, and Agnes will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery.

Rev. Kelly Tiger Jr. is the officiating minister.

Pallbearers are William Stoneroad Jr., Dale Parkerson III, Aaron Harjo, Jerry Harjo, Dale Parkerson Jr., Edgar Kent Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Damien Spray, Daniel Parkerson, Derrick Spray, David Cook, and Adrian Tiger.
