Adolphus C. 'A. C.' Redwine passed away in McAlester, Oklahoma on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the age of 91 years.
A. C. was the son of Alphus M. 'Bud' Redwine & Artmissis (Grahm) Redwine, born on January 27, 1920 in Wilburton, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. He served four years in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the VFW and served as an honor guard for many years. He graduated Okmulgee Tech as a certified heat/air technician, and worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, retiring in the early 1970s.
A. C. married Mary Helen Allen on January 29, 1975, and they made their home in various parts of Oklahoma. They lived in for a few years in Wilburton and Wetumka then moved to Spaulding in 1984, where they lived till 2005, when they moved due to failing health, to be near their daughter in the Eufaula area. Mary Helen passed away on August 13, 2009.
A. C. loved to travel when he was in good health. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, browsing at flea markets, and collecting coins and guns.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Hazel Carr; two sons, Terry Redwine and David Redwine, and one stepson, Terry Moon; one brother, William Redwine.
He is survived by his son, Dennis Redwine and wife Susan, of Shawnee; his daughter, Anita McClarnin and husband Robert, of Mannford, Oklahoma; his stepdaughter, Donna Oliver and husband Leon, of Eufaula; three stepsons: Tom Moon and wife Sherry, of Dallas, Texas, Tim Moon and wife Susan, of Oklahoma City, and David Moon of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters: Dolly Gaines and husband Ham, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Reba Cathey, of Fort Worth, Texas, Thelma Green and husband Tommy, of Oklahoma City, and Evalee Rich and husband Paul, of Marble Falls, Texas; one brother, Paul J. Redwine of Nebraska; one sister-in-law, Beverly Redwine; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren, including Kimberly Green, Michael Stewart, Nathan Stewart, and Amber Donnell, all of McAlester, Misti Harris and Maggie Moon, both of Oklahoma City, Chad Moon and Scott Moon, both of Dallas, Texas, and Mary Elizabeth Moon of Cleveland, Ohio; one step great great granddaughter, Alexis Walton; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Graveside services will be held and A. C. will be laid to rest in the Little Cemetery at Little, Oklahoma at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2011. Gene Holliman is the officiating minister.
