Tommy Darrell Bennett went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 28, 2012 at the age of 70. He was born to Henry S. and Lula V. Pendley Bennett on March 22, 1942 in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
He attended Holdenville Public Schools and worked with his father as a master stucco/plaster mason. He also did roofing with his brother-in-law Bill Gillean. He had many friends and was loved by all who knew him. You never saw him that he wasn’t smiling. He was saved and baptized at the Penn West Baptist Church and loved attending and serving as an usher in the church.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father and mother, one brother, Ricky Don; one sister, Kaye Lynn Gillean; and one niece, Julie Denise Gillean.
He is survived by one brother: Phillip L. Bennett and wife Diane of Holdenville; one sister: Cathy Aguirre and husband Don of Albuquerque; four nieces: Rebecca Sipes and husband Danny; Stephanie Bennett, both of Holdenville; Ami Aguirre Logan of Tennessee, and Heather Aguirre Campbell and husband Rick of Albuquerque; two nephews: Greg Gillean of Atwood, and Steven Bennett of Oklahoma City; six great-nephews, eight great-nieces, and two great-great nieces. He is also survived by aunts, Willa Mae Miner, Sally Bennett and Freeda Blaylock; and two uncles, Harry Bennett, and Melvin Swinhart as well as many cousins and friends.
Service will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Holdenville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Dane Robinson officiating assisted by Rev. Nathan Covington.
Pall Bearers are Greg Gillean, Nate Gillean, Danny Sipes, Chuck Simmons, Eldon Brittain, and Bobby Brittain. Honorary Pall Bearers were James Vail, Charles Leewright, Bill Robinson, Harry Bennett, Melvin Swinhart and Bill Giles.
Burial will be held in the Holdenville cemetery.
